10 Miles – three photographs at the AGNSW, Sydney 2011

The first three photographs from my new series 10 Miles: a photographic investigation of an Australian atomic landscape, were shown at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Photography and Place: Australian landscape photography 1970’s until now. 10 Miles is a contemporary photographic project revealing the story of a buried Australian landscape, an atomic legacy forgotten in the urban subconscious.

The exhibition Photography & place examines recent Australian landscape photography and its relationship to ideas of place and culture. A particular concern of the exhibition is to identify the role of the photographer as a mediator and storyteller. The exhibition includes work from eighteen artists such as Bill Henson, Jon Rhodes, Lynn Silverman, Simryn Gill, Ricky Maynard, David Stephenson, Rosemary Laing and Paul Ogier.

The show opened on the 16 of March 2011 and ran until 29 May 2011.
